Last of the summer days

There are some days when you step outside and the mild air and caressing sunshine hold you in a soft embrace that you never want to let go.I managed to make it back to work after lunch but took a break around 3 to wonder around in the softness of the day that held no hint of the autumnal chill of last week. Oh, if I could have only gotten out on and gone kayaking on the still waters of the Arboretum. Or even lazed on a blanket reading. It was a truly surprising start of October in Seattle with the changing leaves and the one red, one green crane that swung against that oh so blue Seattle sky. I soaked in as much as I could, but still hope for more such days this month. Days when work does not expect me, and my energy insists on making the most of what is given.
